About the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club (Inc)
15 May 2005
Previously known as the Spartan Cricket Club, we were established as a one team club in 1918 in the Churches Cricket Association. As we enter our 88th year of competition, we now boast six senior and approximately a dozen junior sides. We are now affiliated with the South Metropolitan Cricket Association (Inc) ("the SMCA").
We enjoy multi-million dollar facilities at John Connell Reserve in Leeming, Western Australia. We also have grounds at Trevor Gribble Reserve and Peter Ellis Reserve. Leeming Spartan are the reigning SMCA A-Grade premiers. Sound recruiting in the off season gives us renewed enthusiasm for continued success in all grades for the coming season. The administration of the Club has been so sound over the years that we have had only 6 Presidents since inception. The current President has served 26 years. Financially sound, Leeming Spartan now gives all cricketers the opportunity to enjoy high quality training, playing equipment and conditions. The Club looks forward to the 2005-06 SMCA season with enthusiasm, looking to build upon our solid performance in all grades in the previous season. Article by Shannon Davies |
