HALL OF FAME MEMBERSHarold BELL - Life Member - Aggressive right hand bat, right hand medium pace bowler. Recognised as the best fielder in the Association during the 1960's. Years: 1959-81 / Seasons 22 / 1st grade games 169 / total games 219 / games captain 1 / runs 6322 / wkts 181 / catches 127 / Premierships 4 Paul CLEMENT - Outstanding fast bowler and capable right hand batsman. Was the mainstay of the First Grade during his time at the Club. Had a very successful WACA career before joining Spartans. Years: 1987-97 / Seasons 9 / 1st grade games 117 / total games 117 / Runs 1581 / Wkts 286 / Catches 59 / Premierships 1 Paul HITCH - Right hand bat and fast bowler who was responsible for many solo match winning performances. Years: 1992-01 / Seasons 9 / 1st grade games 109 / total games 121 / runs 3401 / wkts 177 / catches 43 / Premierships 2 Frank McClumpha - Very capable medium pacer from pre-war period. His figures are better than indicated here as records of some of the pre-war ear have not as yet been uncovered. Years: 1931-42 / Seasons 11 / 1st grade games 102 / total games 102 / runs 921 / wkts 196 / catches 12 Ian Mcclumpha - Right hand bat and medium pace bowler who was the mainstay of the Club during the 1930's. After the war became the first post-war captain of Hilton Park. Years: 1931-49 / Seasons 14 / 1st grade games 110 / total games 110 / games captain 110 / runs 2297 / wkts 168 / catches 17 Barry MAHER - Life Member - Left hand fast medium bowler who averaged 35 wickets a season during his time at the Club. Transferred to Phoenix in 1980 where he also had an outstanding career. Years: 1965-80 / Seasons 15 / 1st grade games 108 / total games 141 / games captain 22 / runs 2399 / wkts 389 / catches 50 / Premierships 2 George MAZZINI - Life Member - Right hand bat and left hand spin bowler who would rank among the best all-rounders produced by the Club. Unfortunately transferred to the country when at his peak. Years: 1974-97 / Seasons 20 / 1st grade games 115 / total games 200 / runs 3703 / wkts 210 / Catches/stump 87/3 / Premierships 1 Maurie PIETRONIRO - Life Member - Outstanding all rounder who batted and bowled left handed. His career record is probably the best achieved in the history of the Club. Years: 1967-96 / Seasons 30 / 1st grade games 171 / total games 329 / games captain 82 / runs 6058 / wkts 430 / catches/stump 136/1 / Premierships 3 George PLUSKE - Life Member - Right hand fast bowler with frightening pace who twice took 70 wickets in a season. Capable right hand bat and an outstanding fieldsman. Years: 1955-74 / Seasons 18 / 1st grade games 146 / total tames 161 / games captain 45 / runs 2169 / wkts 601 / catches 92 / Premierships 2 Joe RAYNER - Life Member - Very aggressive right hand bat and leg spin bowler. Joined Medina (which became Kwinana) as their founding captain in 1970. A Life Member of both Spartans and Kwinana. Years: 1946-69 / Seasons 21 / 1st grade games 104 / total games 113 / runs 2099 / wkts 124 / catches 47 / Premierships 1 Lew READ - Life Member - Right hand bat and wicket keeper regarded by many as the best batsman to represent the Club. Was also an inspirational captain. Years: 1955-80 / Seasons 25 / 1st grade games 160 / total games 205 / games captain 89 / runs 5113 / wkts 8 / catches/stump 129/13 / Premierships 5 John SPENCER - Life Member - A very aggressive batsman and outstanding wicket keeper noted for his stumpings off the medium pace bowlers. Years: 1965-80 / Seasons 15 / 1st grade games 101 / total games 177 / games captain 9 / runs 5024 / wkts 26 / catches/stump 138/88 / Premierships 4 Ron STANTON - Life Member - An outstanding fast medium bowler and capable middle order bat. His accuracy and control made him a leading bowler inthe 60's and 70's. Years: 1957-78 / Seasons 21 / 1st grade games 160 / total games 215 / games captain 21 / runs 3272 / wkts 617 / catches 99 / Premierships 2 Brian WATERER - Life Member - Right hand opening bat and off spin bowler. Generally held an end safe while read, Bell, Spencer, etc created mayhem at the other end. Captained four Premiership sides. Years: 1958-98 / Seasons 39 / 1st grade games 134 / total games 446 / games captain 225 / runs 7631 / wkts 94 / catches/stump 159/2 / Premierships 5 Inducted 2005/06 Peter READ - Life Member - Prolific scoring top order batsman. Finished his career with a club record 9036 runs. Involved in many partnership records. Years: 1972-2003 / Seasons 30 / 1st grade games 168 / total games 400 / games captain 114 / runs 9036 / wkts 50 / catches 143 / Premierships 1 Inducted 2007/08 David BLIGHT - Life Member - High quality swing bowler, who later in his career turned hand to batting, scoring centuries and captaining third grade to premiership. Years: 1975-2005 / Seasons 31 / 1st grade games 119 / total games 419 / games captain 123 / runs 7221 / wkts 292 / catches 199 / Premierships 3.Peter McGILVRAY - Life member - Outstanding all rounder, club coach for sixteen seasons - first grade premiership captain. Also captained second grade in development role. Years: 1988-2003 / Seasons 16 / 1st grade games 173 / total games 219 / games captain 126 / runs 6183 / wkts 168 / catches 122 / Premierships 2. |
